Introducing Changemakers Q&As
•Posted on April 23 2019
This summer Tootsa is collaborating with environmental charity Surfers Against Sewage, a charity we, as a bunch of surfers, have supported since our launch. Through our sweatshirts and T-shirts we want to help raise money and awareness of all the work this incredible charity does, from the volunteer beach cleans across the UK to the plastic free schools project.
But Surfers Against Sewage are not the only surf warriors who are using their passion for the sport and the ocean to help others. And we want to celebrate these other inspiring women and men who are also using the ocean to make positive changes within their communities, from working with children with autism and disabilities to promoting female solidarity.
These inspiring people will be featured in a series of ‘Changemakers’ Q&A’s on our blog. But of course we had to kick off the first ’Changemakers’ interview with a chat with Pete Lewis – Director of Fundraising & Operations of Surfers Against Sewage.
We asked him why it is so important for kids to get involved with #plasticfreecommunities and the simple ways they and their families can make a difference.
Launching May 1st. The “Changemakers’ interviews will be posted every Wednesday. Please keep an eye out, show your support for these people and tell us what you think. #tootsachangemakers
